                               Adoption
If you are interested in becoming an adoptive family please fill out our questionier below...
Some breeding seasons may be busy around here while others are more quiet, which means we  may have from 0 to 4 litters per year, never breeding before a pug is mature and ready for motherhood/fatherhood,and always breeding with the intent of bettering the breed each time a litter is planned.
If you would like to be on our list for a puppy, after you fill out the form we will contact you to let you know what your next step is in the process.
If we do not have  puppies available for adoption  we will referr you to  those we personally feel are reputable  and responsible breeders in and around Washington state.

Our adoption prices are based on the immense dedication it takes to breed, whelp,& raise healthy adults and puppies.
We invest a great amount of  time~energy and money into bringing  quality~ healthy~ happy puppies into the world and raising them to be well adjusted for life, and their new adoptive families. We have selectively, and carefully reinvested in quality pug lines that we feel will enhance health and conformation in our breeding program.

Adoption Fees
Will run from $1100 on up depending on quality, for AKC pets of traditional/standard colors (Fawn & Black.)

AKC whites and silver/greys ~ Private treaty only (adoption fees will be decided on by us when we have whites and silvers available.)

Limited registration~All pet puppies are AKC registered and will come with a pedigree of thier bloodlines showing who is in thier lineage..however the AKC registration papers will be sent to the adoptive family  after we are sent proof of spaying/neutering by 8 months of age from your vet.
Full AKC Registration
On occasion we allow full AKC breeding rights for the standard colors   and to  those we consider to have a good breeding plan in place,& will be dedicated to improving this breed... No one who has been given full breeding rights on a female is ever allowed to breed her before the age of  18 months and preferably after 20 months plus, and must sign a contract agreeing to this(There have been to many "experienced" breeders out there allowing accidents to happen.)This is not OK in our eyes.Males can not be used for breeding under a year old.If you are considering breeding then you also need to consider that you will have to invest in a safe secure heavy duty pen for a male, and or female, these pens usually run about $500 and are AKC approved, roomy, and easy to put together. They come with a roof for shade and are water proof to keep your pug dry.(Available through Costco.com)Also you must factor in a nice dog house (preferably wood as they do not sweat like plastic does, usually these dog houses run about $100.00) with a heated bed($75.00) and a door flap to hold in the heat($75.)Pugs do not do well in the elements. If you do not secure your male you can and will end up with an unwanted breeding that could have been prevented. When you rotate your pugs and bring either into your house during heat cycles be prepared to buy a couple pairs of diaper/panties for your female as she will be bleeding for a several weeks and this will wreck your carpet and your furniture if you donot keep these on her. And your male will need belly bands as he will absolutely want to hike his leg in your house because of the female heat cycle. The belly bands will need to be changed often,so be prepared. A responsible breeder must factor in all of these costs.
Be prepared to answer a ton of questions if you are seeking to breed.. Full Akc breeding rights are on a case by case basis to loving, responsible, approved families/breeders.
(standard colors.)
Full breeding rights for standard colors can vary ,you should expect to pay from $1500 to $2000 .....
We all start somewhere, and I am happy to help you identify weather or not this is a path you would really like to go down.

Our Pugs of Colour breeding Program
We have worked very hard and invested a tremendous amount of research time, energy,& money into our silver, and white breeding program.Breeding for a better conformation, dark pigment in skin and nails, not dilute eyes and nails as those who indiscriminantly,& unscrupulously  breed these colors, and then ask a "rare" price.
It is not fair for those of us who have actually busted our butts, and wallets to breed these colors responsibly and with integrity.  Do be careful of those advertising these colors but do not a have a good, responsible breeding program in place, you do not know what you are getting in this case, genetic faults etc... Our lines  both colored and standard this far in the multiple generations on the ground have been healthy and there is no current history of genetic defects or faults in our protege(this far into our breeding program),we would not hesitate to remove a line that has a history of genetic faults...
We keep in contact with most  every family who has adopted our pugs through the years,as  this is the best way of knowing how genetically sound our breeding program is. We  do care very much about the future health of our lines. We have had eyes certified, but you never know for sure unless you follow the genetics of the protege. This is an annual process.
Breeding rights on Pugs of Color
Most of the time If we have these colors available they will be for pet only homes.(We may have an exception on occasion if we have a quality pug of color that represents what we feel is an excellent conformation and temperament.)This responsibility will not be handed over to just any body.
When we have a pug of color with the conformation that is consistent with what we desire, only then will we consider breeding rights on these colors.(the exception to the rule) Be prepared we are choosy, and it will only go to those we feel will work as hard as we have with these colors.

No pug that has been adopted from us is allowed to be surrendered to an animal shelter, these pugs must be returned back to us,no questions asked.

We have the right of refusal on all of our puppies should we decide to change our mind on your suitablity as an adoptive home.If we have carefully chosen you as an adoptive family,we then accept a nonrefundable half down deposit on all puppies.
If your circumstances change and you need to wait until a later date to adopt ~ your deposit will  be good toward the adoption of a puppy from a future litter. The initial purchase of the pug you choose to buy will mean the difference between having your vet for a best friend ,or a having your pug for a best friend. You may choose to adopt as cheaply as possible with the possibility endless vet bills ~ or invest wisely and forgo the issues associated with poor breeding and care. Please look around and you will see the difference~you will get what you pay for.  © Funny Farm Pugs

OUR GUARENTEE
We as pug only breeders have done all that is possible to ensure that your new family member is in good health at the time of adoption. It is VERY IMPORTANT to your new puppies health that you provide all necessary preventive vaccinations, provide a healthy diet, regular veterinary care, and adequate living conditions. Please remember that these puppies are given thier FIRST set of shots at  7 to 8 weeks of age because to vaccinate before this age is useless as the mothers immunities DO NOT taper off until the puppies reach this age so ANY SHOTS GIVEN BEFORE THIS AGE ARE RENDERED USELESS.
VERY IMPORTANT~ your puppy needs to stay away from outside germs from the time you take him/her home until two weeks after the THIRD set of shots, that means no walks unless it is in your own back yard,no parks, and no pet stores. Each set of shots are given about three weeks apart. We do offer second and third series of shots and wormings here at our farm but only to those puppies who have been adopted from us.
Your new puppy is guaranteed against GENETIC defects such as, nasal/palate obstruction that causes cyanosis, heart murmur, spinal deformity that causes paralysis, and knee luxation for the period of one year from his or her birth. If a genetic defect is found within the above mentioned time frame and is verified by a second veterinarian of our choice, you will then have the option  to request a replacement puppy as soon as one is available, upon the safe return of this puppy back to us (at new owner's expense). If you are already bonded and decide to keep this puppy, you would receive one half of the agreed upon original purchase price when proof of spaying or neutering has been submitted and verified.

Because environmental factors can play a part in a dog’s health, we do not cover certain ailments.

THIS DOES NOT COVER INJURY OR ILLNESS DUE TO ACCIDENTS OR NEGLIGENCE.

If your lifestyle changes and you cannot keep your pug, call me and I will absolutely take back the dog and keep him/her or place it in the most loving  home possible.  Please don't just give it away to someone that you think wants it cause he is cute as this a unique breed that needs a unique and very dedicated  owner.
